W-KEUKENS

The original kitchen was supplied by Domestic and installed through WKeukens as part of the construction project. After purchasing the apartment, we had this kitchen expanded with additional fixed, overhanging cabinets above the countertop because the kitchen lacked sufficient storage. This expansion was ordered explicitly and under time constraints, as we were still entitled to the 6% VAT rate at that time. This was discussed clearly with the seller several times beforehand. They indicated that invoicing could be handled through Domestic to ensure this was arranged correctly. We were informed that this was also possible directly through WKeukens at the 6% VAT rate. Based on this confirmation, we received and signed a quote and purchase order with 6% VAT. This VAT rate was a key factor in our decision to have the expansion installed. However, after installation, an invoice was issued at 21% VAT. In subsequent communications, WKeukens indicated that, for administrative reasons, this could not be invoiced at 6% and that it could no longer be adjusted. The customer was blamed for the error, despite the fact that they themselves included the 6% VAT rate in the quote and order form. Moreover, the same communication explicitly stated that invoicing at 6% VAT would constitute "VAT fraud," while we only request compliance with the previously agreed-upon terms as set out in writing. Despite repeated communication, clear documentation, and a willingness to pay immediately upon receipt of a valid invoice, Wkeukens still refuses to rectify this error and threatens additional costs for alleged non-payment. This is unfortunate, as the installation itself was correct, but the subsequent administrative handling, accountability, and customer focus are particularly disappointing.
